Clarence William Heath Robinson was an English cartoonist and illustrator whose characterful art is still popular today. He was born in London into a family of artists including his father and brothers (Thomas Heath and Charles). During his career he illustrated many popular books of the time such as those from Hans Andersen, Shakespeare, Rabelais and Charles Kingsley. Robinson’s work was also in demand for various magazines and adverts. He also wrote and illustrated children’s books himself including ‘Bill the Minder’ and ‘The Adventures of Uncle Lubin’.
